Successful fishing has a common denominator with purchasing lucrative real estate: location, location, location. Not every hole of water will be well-stocked with a supply of fish. If a person is on vacation or new to an area, it is suggested to speak to the natives to find out where the good fishing spots reside. Early morning or late night fishing most often will give the fisherman more opportunities to catch the fish while awake and on the move. In the afternoon, when the sun is shining bright, fish tend to stay near the bottom of the water and less often come to the surface.
Depending on the type of fishing preferred, the correct bait is absolutely necessary. If fishing for bass, plastic worms often do the job. Spinner baits and crank baits also tend to lure in bass fish and many people find these to be effective for catching larger bass. If spending the day hoping to catch catfish, most fishermen have found live baits such as worms, crawdads, grasshoppers, or shrimp to lure in the big ones. Spending a few minutes talking to a local bait shop will assist the fisherman in learning which baits to use on which fish and will make the outing a more successful and enjoyable one.

Night Fishing for Speckled Trout
Night fishing for speckled trout has become my favorite saltwater fishing tactics. Start off the morning waiting at home or at work for sunset, load up the truck with my heavy-duty night light, rod and reel, lure box and head off to my secret fishing spot were it’s only me and 100′s of speckled trout to be caught. Speckled trout night fishing is easy for youngsters to start getting in love with saltwater fishing at night. I would suggest that the first outing would be some were private. I have seen many things happen at night on a fishing pier, mostly kids getting hooked in the face or knocked down by a fisherman not looking where he was going.
Speckled trout at night can act so different at times when night fishing. They can be 2 feet below the water having a feeding frenzy or they can be on top of the water as if it were an underwater firework display. I have 3 lures that I absolute love to use when fishing for speckled trout at night.
1. Glass minnows
2. Speck Rigs
3. Crystal Minnow plug
Usually I use the glass minnows tandem rigged (two of the same lures used at once) when the trout are real active at night. The lures are good to me because they match what the trout are feeding on at night, and they are small and can be worked reeeeeealllllly slow. This will make them want it even more. When I take my own light it is ran on a tripod stand with a 1000 watt generator with a strong stage spot light. This makes a perfect fishing experience for night fishing for speckled trout.

Some Things You May Not Know The Sport Of Ice Fishing
Fishing is a sport that you can do all year long depending on where you live. Whether you live in the tropics or Canada you can always do some kind of fishing.
If you are into ice fishing then you may need to go to Alaska or Canada. When you are going ice fishing you will need to be sure to bring the right tools with you so that you don’t have to make a second trip back on the ice.
There are many types of fish that you can catch but there are only a few that stay in cold waters like ice fishing wise. If you don’t live in an icy area of the world then don’t expect to catch any ice fish. You will need to travel to catch what you seek.
As normal fishing goes, the fish will tend to bite better in the morning because they come to the surface looking for food. So as the day goes on you will catch les fish because they have already eaten for the day and return down to deeper waters.
Even though ice fishing is a good sport to venture out to it can be a very dangerous one as well. You can get a bad cold out on the ice or even fall through the ice when you car trying to make your hole to go fishing.
You will want to stay away from any substance that will delay your reaction time seeing is that can cause an accident as well. You will also want to wear boots and something warm out on the ice seeing that it is probably below zero where you are fishing at.
A lot of people will take their cars and trucks onto the ice when ice fishing that is ok when the ice is the thick so you may want to check how thick the ice is before you go driving out onto the ice. You might have to log all stuff onto the ice one day and the next day comes and you can drive on it. There will be all kinds of differences when ice fishing. All you do when you get to your spot is check the ice first sees if it’s thick enough to at least walk on and it is go fishing, you will also want to check if it is thick enough to drive on so you don’t have to tote all your gear.
If you can drive on the ice to your spot it will make your day and fishing trip a lot easier and a lot better for you and whoever you bring with you. You don’t ever want to go ice fishing alone that is like a cardinal rule and should also pop into your head as common sense. So always bring someone with you when you go ice fishing whether it be a friend or son or even a wife or girlfriend just always have someone with you.
